七九以前也有过类似疑问。审美的英文词是Aesthetics，但是它的含义不仅仅限于
对美的欣赏。Google了一下，Aesthetics 有以下几种含义：
（一）狭义的：“It is a branch of philosophy dealing with the nature of
beauty, art, and taste, and with the creation and appreciation of beauty.”
（二）科学的：“It is more scientifically defined as the study of sensory
or sensori-emotional values, sometimes called judgments of sentiment and
taste.”
（三）广义的：“More broadly, scholars in the field define aesthetics as
critical reflection on art, culture and nature.”
由于中文“美”字字面意义的误导，人们对“审美”一词容易局限在（一）的含义。
含义（三）太学术化了，而且如果用来给艺术下定义，似乎又陷入了逻辑循环。我
认为定义（二）比较科学（哈，本来就是科学吗），你说的艺术作品表达的就是这
种意义的审美。
