后记
（一）周四（9月1日）上班，竟惊奇地收到电力公司给我的回复，回复时间是凌晨1时，回复的内容如下：
Thank you for contacting us regarding your service.
Sorry for the delayed response, I have confirmed your power outage has been reported. I am also showing your service is restored. If you do experience any further issue with your power while we continue to repair our damaged system please report the outage to 1-877-xxx-xxxx. Thank you for taking the time to report these conditions to us.
Due to the severity of damage done by the hurricane, you have experienced an outage. We apologize for any inconvenience and will continue to work around the clock until all service is restored for the rest of our customers. we expects to restore electric service to the vast majority of customers currently without service by late Friday, with some isolated outages extending into Saturday.
If we can be of further assistance, please contact us at xxxxxx@xxx.com. Have a nice day.

（二）周五下班到家前，在拐入我家的前一个路口，看到一条几米长的写在白布上的巨大横幅，写的是“XXX* Out Of Power!!!” 可想而知这里的人们还没有来电。也不怪他们愤怒，他们和我们是一个小区的，只和我们差了一条街，看到我们已经来电两天了，他们的愤怒是很正常的。
注 *XXX是我们电力公司的名字
（三）在结束本文前（几分钟以前），本人又到电力公司的网址浏览一番，发现到此时此刻，我所在的县还有15户没有电，全州还有3,706户没有来电。尽管Hurricane Irene在表面上没有造成多么大的损害，其实它的损害是巨大的，超过了我搬到马里兰州以后任何一次自然灾害。
