Try the following：
1。boot in safe mode。if bootable, go to trash can get the file back. if you can not find the file, try copy or download the file from other place. but I am not sure the copied file from other place is going to work.
2. if still not work, dump the desktop and replace by ipad2. Not many people can break ipad. Slow down, get your patient back and used to be old:-)
