Of course my encounter is somewhat different from yours.
Smoke coming out of North Tower before 9:00 am. As we
watched on through an office window, still sipping my first
coffee, the crash on the South Tower came into full view. A
fire balls came right through the shining windows,
then smoke !!
West Street was full of evacuated people, matching north. There was
no doubt at that point, we were attacked. About 10 minutes later, we were
out of the building, all heading home.
It was another matter to find the ride home. I heard no crying, screeming
or shouting while in the city, everyone must have been in a big shock. Out of
NYC in safe in a PATH car, I can hear them now, and finally I heard a young
lady bursted into tears, then another, and another ....
A fellow sat next to me was on the North Tower 89th floor, another from the
federal building next to building 5. They started talking about the economic
impacts and retaliations already ......
