Yes, that is the view of most people about religions.
Usually people seperate the two things, religons and sciences. Religions are belief, but not sciences.
Unfortunately many people still think religions are sciences.
I guess people still need religions in this world. There are many reasons for this. Religions are cultures and traditons (that is why you can't just create a new one without bases).
