In some sense you were lucky that you could be with her in those days...Look at the brighter sides in a situation you couldn't really do much more.
I gather that you need a change in your mode. May I suggest you do something with the kid, take him to a movie or something like that; or go to ZWP demanding a treat (one of his DaKuan friends owes me fifty bucksCND, maybe enough for your bill, let him puts in his share:-). Don't put too much into this sort of things, otherwise it won't last.
