Here is my take on Deng:
The measurement properties:
1. Great courage and strengths
2. Sacrifice
3. Nobility of purpose
4. Achievement.
• The target achievement
• The actual achievement
• The affect of the achievement
Hero = (Great courage and strengths*Sacrifice) * 1/2((Nobility of purpose) *1/3 ((The target achievement) + ½(The actual achievement) + ¼(The affect of the achievement))
The highest points for each category is 10.
The total points of the three items in 4 is 10. (4, 3,3)
A total Hero will have 10*10*5*(1/3)*(4+1.5+1/4*3), which is just a little bit more than 1000.
For Deng:
Before he was the number one:
Great courage and strengths = 10; (Perfect score)
Sacrifice = 10; (His life may be in danger, perfect score)
Nobility = 10; (To free the Chinese people, perfect score)
The target achievement = 4; (Set up a new country, perfect score)
The actual achievement = 2; (3 would be the perfect score, but there were Hongkang, Marco and Taiwan)
The affect of the achievement = 1; (3 is the perfect score. I give one because I can argue that the affect is very bad from the future point of view.)
Hero-ness = 10*10*5*1/3(4+2+1) > 10*10*5*2 = 1000
Close to perfect score! If he died now, he would be a great hero!
After he became the number on:
Great courage and strengths = 5;
(I have to say he had the brain strength, but he had no more courage on political reform.)
Sacrifice = 0.1;
(Not much. He wanted to take advantage of his position to get personal benefits.)
Nobility = 0.1;
(Not much, just keep the group happy.)
The target achievement = 2;
(Perfect would be 4. Politically, he wanted just keep the old way, but, still he wanted a materially strong country too.)
The actual achievement = 1;
(Perfect would be 3. Some are rich, some are poor, and the distance between them are ever larger)
The affect of the achievement = 0.1; (Perfect would be 3. However, Deng was setting very bad example for other people, holding power without proper office)
Hero-ness = 5*0.1*0.05*1/3(2+0.5+0.025) < = 0.025
Deng is no more a hero!
