I like the story too. Not all the Nobel winners are like that. Some of the Chemists, like Linus Pauling and James Watson, also have colorful stories to tell.
With nanoscience and biology being two of the most promising fields of future scientific development, I think Chemists have at least equal, if not bigger, role to play to shape the landscape of science and technology, and our lives.
