Don’t remember when my daughter got the blanket. For me, it was just a blanket, but for her, it was rather special. It had a tropic fish on it and she called it “Fish blanket.” Since she has her free will, (from 4 and up), she always plaid with it during the day and slept with it during night. It was even hard to get the fish blanket washed. We had to promises her that it would be dry very soon and she could have it back with no time. When we were making trips, she always needed the blanket on the way with her. It is very hard for her to get into sleep without the blanket even she was more than 7 years old. I was worried that she would be never grown up. However, one day, without our knowledge, she washed the blanket by herself, and then used a lamp to dry the blanket. When we noticed something smelled funny, the blanket was starting to produce smokes: big part of it already totally black. She was very upset. Luckily, it was her own mistake and she did not cried too much for it. She cut the fish out to save and the fish blanket was no more. Still, until today, not other blanket could replace the position of the fish blanket in her heart. She does not need a blanket with her all the time after the fish blanket was gone. I was quite happy with the result: I though she could finally grown out of her childhood.
