Your message made me think about the good old times in Ames, a lovely small college town where I spent most of my restless youth years. I can still vividly remember the endless corn field in the summer, the smell of the colorful leaves on the ground in the fall, the beautiful white trees in the winter,and the wonderful people of Iowa. These are the things that stuck in my mind as what represents America the heartland. And thus we fell in love with America and made our home this new land.
Twelve years ago, we met in a small Red Roof hotel, when Sha and I were passing Georgia on our way to Boston. I finally met the young father who worked in DaQin and took the trouble to record the voices of his classmates after the graduation. I knew then this was a man of sentiment, a man who valued friendship more than anything else, and we became friend.
My friend, this world is too big, and we all were destined to be apart. We will get together some day with other friends, and Sha and you will see each other. I promise.
