HPAIR international conference has emerged as the largest annual Harvard event in Asia and the largest annual student conference in the Asia-Pacific region, attracting a wide variety of distinguished speakers and future leaders as Harvard's student outpost in Asia. Past conference speakers include South Korean President Kim Young Sam, Governor General of Australia Peter Hollingworth, Singapore President S.R. Nathan and Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. Most recently, Korean President Kim Dae Jung opened our 2003 conference, an event marking his first public appearance since leaving office.

The conference consists of six workshops, each focusing on one of the following topics:
Exploring Asia's Urban Landscapes: Tracing Their Histories and Imagining Their Futures
Modernization and Identity in East Asia: Looking Back and Looking Forward
Rivalry despite Interdependence: The Paradox of Asian Security
The Scientific Revolution in Asia
In Search of Civil Society in Asia
Trial by Fire: Forging a New Legal Reality in East Asia

Business Conference (you can post it when it comes to the school of management)
This year, HPAIR holds a business conference for 500 top business school students from Asia-Pacific region, and some students from top schools all over the world. The business conference consists of six panels, each focusing on one of the following topics: Consumer products, Technology, Automobile, Finance, Media
