I am greatly shocked to learn with profound grief of the
passing away of Professor Gao Dingsan. I want to pay
tribute to him. Prof. Gao was my advisor for my MS degree
in EE of JiDa from 1982 to 1985. The last time I saw him
was 1990 when I visited Changchun and he was in good health.
He was our friend and most distinquished and respected
teacher. I admired him for his devotion to JiDa EE. He
inspired us with his energy, warmth, and kindness. He was
always diligent, modest, prudent, and easily approachable,
setting a good model for us by his conduct. I am proud of
being his student. He will be always remebered.
