Mixing science with religion always adds more confusion to a very difficult and personal issue. There have been many attempts to bring science to religion or find scientific evidence for the ultimate designer of the universe. The end result is to pit science against religion because science is usually unyielding. Science and religion can co-exist peacefully, if we admit that their realm of supremacy is different: sciences rules the natural and material world while religion guides the heart and soul.

I have been curious about many physicists who are utterly religious. They justify their scientific endeavor in the name of discovering what God has hidden from us and to advance the knowledge of human kind. Most of them admit there are these fundamentally laws of nature which is independent of what religion or God you believe in.

I always think that one can be quite religious, but without the need to claim everything is governed by God. One worship the ideas, not necessarily the being. This of course is unorthodox. I am sure 方周 一了兄 do not agree with me on this.
